The School’s curriculum is organised in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. In addition, the School provides personal, social, health and citizenship education reflecting the school’s aims and ethos.
A variety of different teaching and learning methods and materials are used in all areas of learning to suit students’ different needs. Teachers are encouraged to take account of students’ learning styles (visual, auditory and kinaesthetic) in delivering their teaching programmes.
Students are required to take 13 subjects at KS3 level. Thereafter as students prepare for their GCSE’s there is an opportunity for students to pick subjects they would like to pursue further. Some subjects, such as the core subjects however, remain compulsory.
Below you may click on the subjects from any category and find out information on what is required at the KS3 and KS4 level. There is also an introduction to each subject from the teacher in addition to information on the exam board (at GCSE level), and what trips students go on for that subject.
