Founded by Mr Yusuf Islam and Mrs Fawziah Islam, we are an independent girl’s secondary day school catering for students aged 11-16 years old. We welcome you to peruse our website where we hope you will enjoy reading about the curriculum on offer, the after-school activities and generally what our school is about.
We are passionate about our mission to nurture healthy, conscientious and active young members of society. We do this by encouraging our students to involve themselves in all aspects of school life which extend far beyond the classroom.
Some students get involved with the very vocal and proactive School Council. Through this, students quickly learn about responsibility, organisation and effectiveness. They are charged with managing the students and organising events and particular aspects of the school. this gives them invaluable life lessons in working as part of a team, enabling them to develop leadership skills.
All students are allocated a House from the three school Houses which they stay in for the duration of their time at our school. This encourages them to develop friendships across all age ranges, inspiring fast bonds and friendly competition. Throughout the academic year, students accumulate points for any positive aspect of school life, for example behaviour, sports etc. resulting in a passionate bid for each House to win the House Cup at the end of the year.
We are proud that our teachers are all UK qualified and regularly go over and above their role, providing students with educational and pastoral support. Form Tutors have excellent communication with parents who are always keen to get involved and help the school in any way they can. We are determined that where possible, both parents of a child take an active interest in their child’s school life, enabling us to work closely with them for the ultimate benefit of the child.
Career wise, we are always seeking to introduce the students to professionals and inspirational speakers from a range of different careers. Our aim is to let the students know that they can do anything they want, each of them being individual, capable and full of potential.
The school calendar is filled with educational trips around London, and the country. In addition we organise residential trips abroad so that students have the opportunity to travel together and learn the history of other countries.
Every year our students raise money for charity. Working through the School Council, they arrange various activities to engage all students, parents and friends to learn about those less fortunate. The official school charity is Small Kindness, a UK registered charity which looks after orphans, widows, students and needy families in war torn countries or countries which have been hit by a natural disaster. From arranging sleepovers to taking part in sponsored walks or sponsored sporting activities, students are always keen to exercise their creative muscles when raising funds for charity.
We invite you to explore our website, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our school is managed by Islamia Schools Limited, charity number 1134516
