Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Our school is an important part of the wider safeguarding system for children.
To keep our students as safe as we can, Brondesbury College is committed to working closely with children, families, and statutory agencies. We strive to provide a secure and supportive environment where all children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our staff receive Level One Safeguarding Training at least once a year. Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) receive Level Three Safeguarding Training once every two years. Our Headteacher and DSLs are fully equipped to manage and coordinate child protection activity at Brondesbury College.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
If you have a safeguarding concern or would like to speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team, please contact: DSL Mr Amzad Ali on Tel: 0208 830 4522 | Email: a.ali@brondesburycollege.co.uk Deputy DSL Mr Yousaf on Tel: 020 8830 4522 | Email: s.yousaf@brondesburycollege.co.uk If you would like to make a referral yourself, please contact Brent family Front Door on 020 8937 4300 |
Safeguarding and child protection are whole-school responsibilities, and all staff are trained and expected to follow the school's safeguarding procedures without exception. Any safeguarding or child protection concerns — including low-level concerns — must be reported immediately and directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or one of the Deputy DSLs, and not to any other individual.
This ensures that all concerns are handled consistently and in accordance with statutory guidance. Clear procedures are in place for when the DSL is absent, so that safeguarding duties are never compromised. Staff are also briefed to respond sensitively and appropriately if a student discloses abuse or expresses concern about any issue that may relate to their welfare. They are reminded never to dismiss or delay such conversations, and to report all concerns, no matter how small.
