The Business Studies curriculum aims to inspire students and promote the development of transferable skills in communication, presentation, teamwork and ICT.
"And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is good [advantageous] and better in the end."
The Noble Qur’an [17: 35]
Students gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to focus on specific topics such as human resources, marketing, accounting and business planning.
Business Studies is all about reality and so learning resources are based on ‘real’ organisations and applying theory within those situations. The curriculum is designed to encourage students to develop their thinking. From the outset we create a proactive, participative environment which stimulates and encourages our students to make informed decisions using their knowledge and understanding of the subject.
In 2024, 100% of students achieved between grades 9-5 in Business Studies. You can see our school performance figures for 2024 GCSE exams here.
The Business Studies GCSE enables students to know and understand business concepts, business terminology, business objectives, the integrated nature of business activity and the impact of business on individuals and wider society. Students will apply knowledge and understanding to contemporary business issues and to different types and sizes of businesses in local, national and global contexts. They will develop as enterprising individuals with the ability to think commercially and creatively to demonstrate business acumen and draw on evidence to make informed business decisions and solve business problems.
