Business Studies is a subject that gives students the opportunity to develop a wide range of transferable skills.

"The Prophet (PBUH) said,"The truthful and trustworthy businessman will be in the company of the prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs.""

Tirmidhi Hadith [1209]

Business Studies equips students with a broad set of practical and analytical skills, including decision-making, creative thinking, problem-solving, financial awareness, and teamwork.

Students will develop a strong understanding of business concepts and have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through a range of real-world activities and projects. The course encourages awareness of the wider world, helping students understand current global issues and how businesses operate within them.

In 2024, 71% of students achieved between grades 9-5 in Business Studies. You can see our school performance figures for 2024 GCSE exams here.

Extracurricular learning opportunities

We also provide a range of extracurricular activities and opportunities for learning enrichment. These include our school trips and participation in national competitions. More details below:

National competitions

At KS3, our students participate in the Young Enterprise Tenner Challenge. For last year's competition, students came up with excellent business ideas, worked collaboratively to bring them to life, and overcame a variety of challenges along the way. Participation in the Young Enterprise Tenner Challenge, enables them to gain invaluable first-hand business experience. What's more, selling their products to the wider school community, allows them to apply and refine their communication, confidence, and marketting techniques.
